Weesp, fortified city near Amsterdam – The Netherlands

During the golden era of the Netherlands Amsterdam was a vital part of our economy. It needed protection against armies coming over land. In order to stop invasions we had a water line and a string of forts surrounding Amsterdam. Weesp is one of them.
