Waterpoort.
In Medieval Times the Frisian city of Sneek had 4 more water gates and 2 gates accessible by roads. A water gate gave traders a way to access the city from the water, yet the city could be closed when neccessary. Sadly this one is the only one that survived. It has 2 towers and a bridge connecting them. In the area above the bridge the port guard used to live with his family. Although it lost its purpose it is still the symbol of Sneek and has several replicas.

We also have a blog. On it you can read a story called A kids hike.
Near Rheden is a visitors center of Natuurmonumenten, a great start for a hike in the Veluwezoom. The sheep pen and climbing trail are great for kids.
