‘s-Hertogenbosch, historical city center – The Netherlands

s’-Hertogenbosch.

s’-Hertogenbosch started as a trading post. In the year 1184 it received city rights from Gotfried III of Leuven, making this city one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands. People who live in s‘-Hertogenbosch like to celebrate carnival. People save up money the whole year to spend it in 3 days. During these 3 days the city is called Oeteldonk.

Many people thought it would be impossible to cross the San Francisco Bay other than by boat. Until 1937, when this bridge was opened. Many photos have been taken of this bridge since. Here are some of ours.
