Pisa, the Leaning Tower – Italy

with No Comments

Pisa.

The civilians of Pisa wanted to build a big tower to show how wealthy they were and keep their treasures. So they built a tower with the intention to make it the largest tower in the world. They did not take into account the foundation and halfway through the building process the tower started to lean over to one side. They tried to fix it, which make the tower not just leaning, but also curved. It took almost 2 centuries to finish the tower.

They have used a lot of money to keep it stable in this leaning state. Luckily for the civilians it has become world famous and millions of tourist flock to Pisa every year to see the leaning tower.
