In the top 10 of Europe’s most beautiful castles to visit you will find Castle Eltz. Unlike most castles in the Moselle region this castle is not near the river, but it is located in a lush wooded area. You can park near the castle, but you can also opt for the beautiful hike instead. You’re walking through the woods for a hour before you will see the first guard tower. We did not see many other tourists, because we went on this hike during low season. One piece of advice: if you are going in low season double check whether the castle is open. If not, there is no place you can get water or buy food. To get inspired: enjoy the photos
