London, Tower of London – United Kingdom

with No Comments

Probably the most famous landmark in London is the Tower of London. Located near the London Bridge this medieval castle with its white donjon has had many purposes over the centuries. From fortress to royal palace. From prison to museum. Two of Henry VIII’s wifes were beheaded here. The Crown Jewels are on display in this important historical building. Kendra Haste has created the baboons on these photos that represent some of the animals that were kept here in the Middle Ages. They are completely made of chicken wire. When we were there the entrance of the Tower was marked with ceramic roses to commemorate that it was 100-years since the English involvement in WOI.
