Chester, a small town near Liverpool – United Kingdom

with No Comments

Chester.

Chester is originally a Roman fort, hence the name. Many legions marched here before they tried and failed to conquer the rest of the UK. After the Romans, Chester’s population and rulers changed frequently. From Welsh to Anglo-Saxons, from Vikings to Normans. It is one of the best kept walled cities in the UK and the Chester Clock is the second most photographed clock in the UK. Visit the oldest race course in the UK and the medieval center with its double layer of shops, called ´the Rows´.
